Allison is an elementary school teacher currently living in San Luis Obispo, CA. She is fluent in Spanish and has great interest in natural cosmetics and body care products. Allison is also a graduate of the University of Rhode Island.
Becky is a Los Angeles-born writer educated in southern and northern California. She became a writer to raise awareness of social and environmental issues and because her mother’s passion for the written word was contagious. In early 2011, Becky and three other journalists teamed to write their first book “Stories4Women,” which is a collection of true short stories. This project has given her the courage to explore other book ideas … stay tuned. She recently moved to Santa Barbara and works at Hispanic Business Magazine and is happily exploring the city’s sights and sounds.
Diane Smith credits the turmoil of the ’60s and hormones with curing a childhood shyness, the only residual being some embarrassing poetry. In addition to having fostered a lifelong free-floating anxiety, she raised various children and animals, while working as a teacher. She has published several articles and won first place in short story in the 2011 Lillian Dean Writing Competition.
Diane is married, with grown kids who are currently spread out over the three states that make up the west coast, naturally causing her some concern. After a long career in education, she retired to the Central Coast to continue writing. Her fervent wish is not to float away when an earthquake causes California to break off from the rest of the country. After all, she has her poodle to think about.
Kelley is a Registered Dietitian specialized in treating eating disorders. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in nutrition from California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) in San Luis Obispo, CA.
Nicole is a Registered Nurse and a graduate of University of Vermont. Her science background makes her a top consultant and writer for health related articles.
Sarah is a wife and mother living on the central coast of California. She runs a small CSA where they have a myriad of farm animals including chickens, goats, pigs and bees. They grow a large percentage of their fruit, vegetables and meat and strive for sustainability and self-sufficiency on their 2 acre patch of heaven.
Teri graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Honors Program at the University of New Hampshire with a BA in Political Science, Spanish, and Adolescent and Youth Development. She is currently an M.S.Ed candidate at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education in Interdisciplinary Studies in Human Development. Teri passionately believes in the invaluable role that early education can play in building a more sustainable future, and she therefore plans to devote her career to environmental education and awareness.
Zak is a third year environmental studies major, and writing minor, at University of California Santa Barbara. In his free time he enjoys reading, writing, and staying active. Zak also founded a college website in Santa Barbara called Ole Today.
